What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask your browser to store and return with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser mechanisms that scripts can use to retain information. These technologies have different purposes and are not all required for a simple informational website.
Storage used by these pages
The site’s own scripts do not set cookies, use local storage or use session storage. There are no built-in analytics, advertising or social-media tracking components. The mobile menu and scroll animations keep only temporary state in the current page.
Infrastructure or separately supplied platform components may have their own storage behaviour. This notice describes the guide pages and local tools; it does not claim to inventory every hosting-layer mechanism. Any additional component that uses storage must be assessed and disclosed as appropriate by its operator.
Contact drafts, clipboard and downloads
The contact draft exists in the current page’s memory and is not saved by the tool to persistent browser storage. Your browser may independently remember field entries or restore a page after navigation, depending on its settings.
Clicking “Copy message” places text on the device clipboard. Clipboard history may retain it. Clicking “Download .txt” saves a file using your browser’s download process. Neither action is a cookie, and neither automatically sends the draft. Clear the clipboard or delete the file if you no longer want that information on the device.
Caching is different
Your browser may cache images, stylesheets and pages to load them more efficiently. This is normal browser behaviour, distinct from the site setting a tracking identifier. Hosting providers may also process technical request logs, as described in Field Notes Privacy.
Your browser controls
Use your browser’s privacy settings to inspect or remove site data, block cookies, manage autofill and clear cached files. Browser controls vary by device. Clearing browser data does not necessarily remove downloaded files, sent email or system clipboard history; manage those separately.
Following an external link takes you to another website, which may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy. No external website is loaded as an embedded widget in these pages.
